Here's exactly what our safety glasses have been through, what that does and doesn't mean, and what you need to check before wearing them on your site.
We'd rather you hear it from us straight: our safety glasses have passed independent impact testing to AS/NZS 1337.1, but they don't carry third-party product certification yet. Some sites require it. Please check yours first.
Tested and certified are two different things. Here's where we stand on each.
No vague "lab tested" claims. This is what was tested and where you can see it.

The medium-impact result was achieved with the side shields fitted. Our safety glasses have detachable side shields, and the lab confirmed this design in writing.
If you remove the side shields, the glasses no longer perform to the tested rating and the compliance no longer applies. Removing them is at your own discretion and risk, and is covered in our Terms & Conditions.
Every site, employer and principal contractor sets its own PPE rules. It takes two minutes and it protects you.
The questions we get asked most.
Yes. Third-party certification of safety eyewear is voluntary in Australia. Standards like AS/NZS 1337.1 are what a product is tested to, and it's up to each workplace to decide what PPE it will accept. We sell these with the test result and their limits stated openly, so you can make that call yourself.
They passed independent medium-impact testing as a complete unit with the side shields on. Whether that's enough depends on your task and your site's rules, and that's a question for your supervisor or safety officer, not for us.
Testing means a laboratory checked a sample against a standard and reported the result. Certification means an accredited body assesses the product, and usually the manufacturing controls behind it, and licenses it to carry a certification mark. Ours has the first; we're working on the second.
Some will, some won't. We can't answer for your site. Ask before you rely on them.
You can, but the glasses were tested with them on. Without them, the tested rating doesn't apply.
Send us your site's PPE requirement and we'll tell you honestly whether these fit. If they don't, we'll say so.
